A MAN has been sentenced to 65 years in jail after admitting to killing a
white supremacist in his Mississippi home.

Vincent McGee was convicted yesterday (July 28) of the murder of Richard
Barrett who was found beaten, stabbed 16 times, and burned in April 2010.

23-year-old Mcgee reportedly said the 67-year-old victim made sexual
advances towards him, and also claimed he did not know he was a known
racist.

It has been reported that Barrett who founded a group called the Nationalist
Movement and also operated a school for skinheads, was an acquaintance of
Mcgee’s Africa-American family before his death.

The district attorney in the case said he believed robbery rather than
defense was the motive for the murder and that McGee had taken some of
Barrett’s possessions.

McGee, who has previous convictions for assaulting a police officer, was
given 20 years for manslaughter, 20 for arson and an additional 25 years for
burglary.

Rankin County District Attorney Michael Guest said after the sentencing. “It
is highly unlikely Mr. McGee will ever leave the penitentiary. It is fair
sentence.”
