DON’T CALL HIM ROMANTIC: Ziggy Marley and his wife Orly
REGGAE STAR Ziggy Marley admits he’s got a lot to learn when it comes to romance.
The married father-of-six says he’s not big on lovey-dovey type things, but says he is a man of love.
“Am I a romantic man? No, I’m a love man,” he laughed. “I’m not romantic; I’m not really into all that. But I am love.”
Asked if his wife Orly would agree, the singer said: “Yes, she would! I’m not romantic but I am trying!”
Nonetheless, the Jamaican musician and eldest son of reggae legend Bob Marley, is full of love in his latest venture, a new children’s book entitled I Love You Too.
The book was inspired by the song of the same name that features on the star’s 2009 Grammy award-winning children’s album Family Time.
Marley, who recently scooped his sixth Grammy Award, collecting the 2014 Best Reggae gong for his album Ziggy Marley In Concert, says I Love You Too – both the song and the book – was inspired by a simple exchange he had with his daughter.
“The whole concept was inspired by a conversation I had with my daughter, who was three at the time,” he says. “I came in the kitchen one day and she said, ‘I love you.’ I said, ‘I love you too’.
“It was that simple exchange that inspired me to write the song, which in turn inspired this book.”
