DEBATE: The Great Debate Tour

WEDNESDAY 8TH November, accommodated by the University of Birmingham, opened their 6th week of this year’s Great Debate Tour.

The panellists consisted of Dr Ranjit Sondhib CBE, Jennifer Izekor, Jay Islaam and Alex Yip. Elevation Network’s Great Debate Tour is the largest UK debate forum which targets Black, Minority and Ethnic students in UK Universities.

Located at Birmingham University, the event took place inside the Arts Building Main Lecture Theatre. The event began with an introduction led by Chairwoman Shanade Johnson.

Alex Yip tweeted: “GDT 2017 thanks for having me! A really inspiring and fun time with a very eloquent and passionate group of future leaders!”

Thursday 9th November saw both Kent and Warwick host this week’s Great Debate Tour. Kent’s panellists on the night consisted of Ola the Comedian, Evelyn Asante, Ajoa Akuamoah and Kojo Marfo. Located in Kent, the event took place in Mandela building, Lecture Theatre 1. The event began with an introduction led by Chairman Samuel Kasumu.

Warwick’s panellists were the following: David Wurie, Tyson Nsimbe and Mercedes Benson. Taking place in Warwick, the debate took place on the university campus - Zeeman Building. The event began with an introduction led by Chairwoman Shanade Johnson.
