Students at east London state school offered 41 Oxbridge places

SUCCESS: Brampton Manor School

AN EAST London school is being celebrated after they announced that their students received 41 offers to study at Oxbridge.

Brampton Manor School shared the news on Twitter on Tuesday (Jan 15), writing: “Brampton Manor Academy in East London is extremely pleased to announce that 41 students have secured places to study at Oxford and Cambridge universities from October 2019. Huge congratulations to you all.”

The academy’s sixth form director Sam Dobin said: “It’s crazy. Our sixth form has only been open since 2012. In our first year, we had one offer, then we had five and five, nine, 25, and then 41.

“We always thought it was possible because the students are stunningly able, but it’s an amazing achievement for them.”

Many took to social media to congratulate the students. One former student wrote: “Congratulations to everyone who secured a place!! Very pleased to hear my old schools doing so well!!.” while another user said: “Congratulations to everyone. SO pleased for you all. You work incredibly hard and you've earned it.”

This isn’t the first time the accomplished school has been celebrated for their success. In August 2018, the school was highlighted during A-Level results day, as they received top grades for 100 pupils and the entire year group secured university places.
