X Factor hopefuls celebrate their A-level success

SUCCESS FOR REAL: The boy band in action

AN R&B boy band from north London, competing for a place in The X Factor finals, can now boast achieving top marks in their A-level exams.

Three members of clean-cut vocal harmony band 4Real– Gerald Owusu, 18, Gabriel Njoku, 17, and Samuel Frimpong, 17 – achieved distinctions in their music BTEC course as well as qualifications in A-Level subjects such as ICT and physics.

It is these vital qualifications, the group said, that will help them achieve their dream of going to university as well as prep them for their quest to become the next big thing.

Over the past year, the former gospel choir singers, who were doing X Factor auditions on the day their A level results were announced, have had to balance study with gruelling rehearsals. However their dedication helped them win the London finals of Open Mic UK competition in 2010.

After performing to thousands at the national finals at the 02 Arena in London in January, judges praised the teenagers for having what it takes to become the next Boyz II Men.
