Young African student wants your support for his Coventry Dream

HOPEFUL: Iyebiye Olawuyi

AFRICAN STUDENT Iyebiye Olawuyi is looking to pursue his Academic dream of coming to the UK and attending Coventry University, and has launched a Crowdfunder campaign to help raise $20,000 for his tuition before July 12.

The Nigerian student, who calls himself “a writer, blogger, songwriter and an aspiring media and entertainment strategist”, applied and was admitted into an MA program in Communication, Culture and Media at Coventry University earlier this year – but has been not been able to raise the funds from his $2548, a year income.

In a YouTube video and long form article on the website titled, My Coventry Dream, Iyebiye introduces the campaign, detailing the breakdown of costs and also the reason he wants to study at Coventry.

Iyebiye, who launched the fundraiser on Generosity.com, says he wants to tell "seemingly boring stories like politics or business news to young people in rather cool and interesting way," and wants to take African entertainment to the world.

With hopes of visiting some of the top media houses in England and advancing his career, the young student wants to be one of the top media and entertainment strategists to come out of Africa – with university being the first stop on his list.
