Man tells of horrific ordeal after being caught in Norway bombing
A MAN caught up in the Oslo attacks has spoken of his horror exclusively to The Voice.
Rwanda-born Max Mutabazi, 39, who was just metres away when a bomb was detonated near the government headquarters in Oslo, Norway’s capital on Friday (July 22), says he thought he had escaped such attacks when he left his hometown.
“When I left Kigali, I thought I had escaped this type of terror” he told The Voice.
“I was like 300-400 metres from the government headquarters. I could feel the ground shake and suddenly there were shards of glasses raining all over my head,” he continued.

Right-winged Anders Behring Breivik is said to have planted the deadly bomb outside Regjeringskvartalet, a government building, killing seven people.
He then went on to shoot and kill an additional 86 people at a youth camp on the nearby island of Utøya.
Breivik, who has admitted to the crimes, but pleaded “not guilty” to the murder charge, told the investigators that he “was not trying to kill as many people as possible,” but wanted to “save Norway and Europe from a Muslim takeover and send a strong signal to the governing Labour Party," was sentenced to eight weeks in isolation and is to appear again in court on August 22.
Mutabazi says he has gotten over the initial shock of Friday’s attack, but admits it will forever haunt him.
He said: “I first realised I was in shock yesterday – that’s when it finally sank in and it became apparent I hadn’t left my house since Friday. I will attend the memorial service Oslo town hall later today (Jul 25) to pay my respects to those who lost their lives so tragically”
