KEVIN HART is able to walk after he was hospitalised with “major back injuries” after he was involved in a car accident in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The comedian was a passenger in his vintage car, a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, when it swerved off the road and rolled into embankment.
The crash took place on Sunday morning in Calabasas, California.
Jared Black, the driver of the vehicle, lost control, according to reports.
Black was also taken to hospital with “major back injuries”, CNN reported.
Three people were in the car at the time of the crash, two of whom were trapped in the vehicle after it tumbled down an embankment.
Pictures from the scene show the roof of the car completely torn off and extensive damage to the car, which Hart bought for himself as a 40th birthday gift in July.
Hart remains in hospital but is expected to make a full recovery, The Sun has reported. He may need to undergo surgery on his back and his having tests to confirm the course of treatment.
Hart’s fans and celebrity friends have been sending the star messages of support since the news broke.
Actor Terry Crews tweeted: “Get well soon, brother.”
Fellow comedian George Wallace tweeted: “Sending one out to @KevinHart4real. May your spine be fine. May your back cut you slack. May your neck not be a wreck. And may the Lord protect your cord. Love you.”
Actor Dwayne Johnson who has starred alongside Hart in a number of films, posted a picture of himself with the father-of-three on Instagram. He captioned the image: “Stop messing with my emotions brother. We have a lot more laughing to do together. Love you man. Stay strong.”
