RADIATE WINDRUSH FESTIVAL: A family enjoy the festivities

RADIATE WINDRUSH Festival is an exciting two-day event happening on the June 22 and 23 June 2019 to celebrate the first national Windrush Day.

The Radiate Windrush Festival, which takes place at Crystal Palace Park, London, puts a spotlight on the iconic journey of mass Caribbean migration to the UK and it sets out to celebrate the richness of the diverse Caribbean presence within Britain since the docking of the Empire Windrush in Tilbury, Essex, in 1948.

We’ve come to party! Bring your flags, horns, whistles and be there to join the fun.

Everyone is welcome from granny right through to baby and you are encouraged to get all wrapped up in black culture from the Caribbean, Africa and the creole speaking communities.

CULTURE: The event will celebrate the rich and diverse Caribbean contributions to the UK

Eat some great food, drink a cocktail, party, dance away, chill, chat and make some friends. We will also be showcasing this year’s largest UK Windrush mural to mark the 71st anniversary.

Highlights include: Windrush exhibition, billboard sized art, main stage dance performances and musical acts, cultural workshops, village markets, garden games, dominoes, sound systems, silent shubeen, debating in the community hub and more.

Children will also get a chance to experience an open play, pop-up bookshop, creative sessions, mini dance area, yummy kid’s meal-deals and creative face painting.

This event is for all the family and not to be missed.

Tickets are available at www.radiatefestival.com/tickets or Eventbrite starting at £5 for children and £7 for adults.
